The studio and wooden chapel of sculptress Eva Ryynänen The studio with lovely wooden sculptures and the Paateri chapel are major attraction in Vuonislahti. Mrs. Eva Ryynänen (1915 - 2001) created about 450 wooden sculptures.

Ruunaa Hiking Area Ruunaa Hiking Area is situated in the easternmost part of Lieksa. The best way to get to know the area is to join a thrilling rapids-shooting tour on a big wooden boat or an action-packed rafting tour on a rubber raft.

On Kuivala Farm there are friendly Iceland ponies to take a ride in the forests.
Vuonislahti Dancing pavillon In the summertime one of the best ways of making acquaintance with finnish lifestyle is to participate in the dancing parties. You can hear live music and try finnish tango, humppa, jenkka or waltz. Every friday evening from 18.6. to 6.8.

Snow mobile routes
North Karelia is an ideal place for snowmobiling. Kestikievari Herranniemi offers you possibility to start for driving along a route with the length of about 110 kilometres. The route is partly on Lake Pielinen, partly in the forests on the eastern side of Lake Pielinen. There are guided snow mobile safaris (with meals) organised for groups, bookings in advance.
